Confident Birth

Gain the knowledge and confidence you and your partner/support person need to have the birth experience you desire. This class is suitable for all first time parents as well as a refresher course. Whether you want to have a medication free birth, or receive your epidural as soon as possible, or you are unsure of exactly what you would like, but want to understand ALL of your options, this class is for you. Come and prepare for your birth in a relaxed, friendly environment, with other families in your community.

Class will cover evidence based information including:

  • Stages and phases of labor
  • How to prepare physically and mentally for your birth
  • Natural coping methods such as deep relaxation, massage, visualization, water therapy and more. You will leave with a tool bag of skills and techniques that can help you cope with labor without drugs if that is your goal.
  • Cesarean birth

We will have a judgement free conversation about ALL of  your medication options and when the best time to use them is.

You will learn what questions to ask, and how to make informed decisions in the moment.
Communicating your needs with your support team and how to best utilize your environment and resources.
Plenty of time for questions and discussion

A few trade secret Doula tips and tricks to make your birth even more enjoyable.

 

Options

Full Series.  4 Weeknight sessions.  Lots of time to discuss and process information.  Large breaks with snacks to spend time getting to know your classmates and building your mico-community.  Runs alternate months, register here.  Classes at Maine Mother + Company, Cost is $250

 

Comfort Measures Only  (New Dates Coming Soon)

1 express class perfect for those who are moving through centering as a model of care or who have taken a hospital based class.  This class focuses on the hands on techniques for partners or support people to offer true comfort during labor.  Classes  at Maine Mother + Company . Run most months from 9-12.  Cost is $150 Register here.
