Babies, bottles and boobs..Oh MY!

We help you sort it out!

Postpartum Doula Support

You are not expected to know all about newborns and being a parent.  Your postpartum doula is here to help!

When you bring your new little one home, you may feel thrilled, exhausted and overwhelmed all at the same time. Add a little sleep deprivation, and it’s easy to feel like you have never done this before.  Oh Wait!  You haven’t done this before!  Whether it’s your first, or your third, every baby is different. There can be so many variables, so many nuances, and they can change from day to day, hour to hour. Babies do not come with manuals. Why are parents expected to do it all on their own?  We provide newborn care and new parent care!

Epic journey vs exhausting ordeal

It’s like this, imagine you plan a white water rafting trip.  You love water! You purchase the right gear, you watched all the right YouTube videos, you work out, let’s do THIS!  You get there and you are off…by yourself right?  Oh no, actually,  you would most likely bring a guide.  You would find a rafting guide with experience and training, who understood all of the ins and outs of that river. They would build your confidence. They encourage you to do the work, but make sure you understand the technique.  They would also feel like a good friend, sitting with you by the fire, listening to you talk about how exciting your time on the water was.  You would hire the best, because you would want your adventure to be epic, challenging, but also relaxing and fun!

Bringing home a new baby is  like white water rafting.

A wild exciting voyage into unknown territory.  You should have a professional guide by your side.  I bring both training and experience to the picture. I see you.  I hear you. I understand your needs change from day to day.  Today you may want some food prepared, some laundry done, and to check in about your baby’s eating patterns.  Tomorrow you might like to have help with your baby’s first bath, work on that swaddle, or find new soothing tools.  The next day you may want to take a shower, come out to a hot cup of tea, and then have a nap, resting soundly because you know your baby is in great hands.  And throughout it all you will want a guide who listens to your needs, your concerns and your hopes.  A professional, who offer options and support without judgement.  What about in between your visits with me?  What if you have a question?  Go ahead and call , text, email,  I am available to you whenever you need.

You have seen some of your friends struggle through those first weeks of parenting. I am here to tell you it does NOT have to be like that.  You can indeed thrive as you step into parenting rather than simply survive.  Give me a call and let me tell you more about how a doula can help you move through the newborn days with peace and joy. You can snuggle, rest, and relax.  I will have your back.
