Labor Doula Support

Let’s be honest, you are having a baby with or without a doula.

You do not NEED a doula to have a baby!  Are you surprised to hear this here?  It’s the truth.   The problem is, pregnancy and birth are often surrounded by uncertainty, even fear.  Having a doula can mean the difference between an acceptable birth experience and an exceptional one.  Why?  What exactly is the difference?  In a nut shell, support, information, and guidance.  Not only for you, but for your partner and team.

A BirthME doula acts as your guide throughout the entire experience. You have unlimited access to your doula team. Like a walking childbirth education class, they have a firm understanding of pregnancy, the process of birth and the many tools available to help cope with discomfort and pain.

We can answer questions that come up, help you process information that comes at you,  and offer techniques on the spot for comfort.  We take all that pressure off of your partner!  This is all new to them as well.  It can be unnerving to see the person you love the most uncomfortable or in pain.  With a guide, who does not leave when the shift changes, partners have a real time, personalized resource right in the delivery room.  A person to let them know everything is just as it should be.  That their loved one is well.  That this is exactly what birth looks like.  Even that the sound they just heard coming from her, is 100% normal.  We also make sure partners get breaks, eat, hydrate and rest so they are fully present.  Do you see how that can change the entire experience for everyone?

With this type of reassurance, partners are empowered to be amazing support systems and families grow even closer.  And what if things stray from the intended path?  You can’t control the weather after all, there is so much in birth that is unpredictable and unexpected, but you can move through the change and decisions that come along with it, accompanied by your doula.   Our clients often tell us what an “enjoyable” even “fun” experience their birth was.  Imagine?  You could have that too!

The number one most important step to help ensure you have a positive birth experience is to hire a provider and choose a location that most closely aligns with your desires for your birth.  The second most important step is hiring a doula.  Let’s chat about it!
